You Are Not Allowed To Take Photos Here!!
Meet some of the security guards at 555 California, in San Francisco. They’re a little angry because photographer Troy Holden was taking pictures of their precious building, which they wanted him to stop doing because of “safety” issues. The big fella there on the left threatened to punch Holden and destroy his camera equipment, too. Classy and professional.
A few things to note:
There are one thousand ninety six images of 555 California on Flickr (probably even more, by the time you read this).
Excellent images of the property are available from Google Street View. Did Mister Big Stuff threaten to break the GSV car, too?
If you’re interested in finding out all the details of 555 California that you can’t photograph from the street, here’s a nice spec list from the property management company that includes locations of pedestrian entrances and other potentially sensitive and/or valuable information. Perhaps our new security guard buddy can threaten beat up his boss for violating safety protocol, too?
The photographer was not taking pictures from the street, but in the plaza. Guess what? It doesn’t matter.
Holden received a note from the property management company, promising to look into the situation. Hopefully good news comes of that.
